Founded in July 1980, Breakaway Productions has spent more than four decades presenting legendary jazz, R&B and soul experiences across the Midwest.
Breakaway Productions began with a simple conviction: that great music deserves a great room, a great crowd and a great night. What started as a handful of local shows in 1980 grew into one of the region’s most enduring independent concert production companies.
Across four decades we have staged festivals, intimate jazz jams and open-air winery concert series — bringing national touring artists together with the finest regional talent, and giving audiences an experience that feels crafted rather than packaged.
Today the company is preparing for its next chapter: a 2027 slate designed to be the most ambitious in our history, while remaining grounded in the values that built us.
Every production begins with the music — world-class jazz, R&B and soul artists presented with the respect their craft deserves.
Our events are built with and for the communities that raised us, from Missouri wine country to the heart of St. Louis.
Sound, staging, lighting and hospitality held to a standard our audiences have trusted for over forty-five years.
